Shelton Farmers Market returns July 15

The Shelton Farmers Market will return on Saturday, July 15.

There’ll be have a variety of vendors, live music, and more food being served off of the grill.

 

This Farmer’s Market staff are excited to announce the creation of, “Valley Sprouts,” a new children’s program at the Shelton Farmer’s Market. Every third Saturday of the month will be a themed market dedicated to kids – with games and activities, interactive music performances, yoga for kids, scavenger hunts, sensory experiences, educational activities, and more! This month we introduce a “book nook” for the Sprouts with books for kids to read and experience while at the market – farming, agriculture, recycling, healthy eating and the natural world are themes found in the books in our “nook.”

 

This weekend will be the second Valley Sprouts Event consisting of the following segments:

July 15: Never Refuse to Reuse

9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Balloon Animals with Bryan (Magic Cafe)

10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Kids music with Kristen

11a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Kid’s Yoga with Jackie

 

The vendors will range from selling local fresh veggies, meats, baked goods, flowers, eggs, wine, berries, handmade items and all natural dog treats. This is a producer only market according to Connecticut DoAG regulations so you will buy directly from the farmer/producer. The market accepts cash, credit and debit, SNAP, EBT and Farmers Market WIC FMNP.

 

Yearly membership in the market will give you additional benefits at the Saturday markets. The market runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 6, 2017 through Thanksgiving and on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. beginning in June at 100 Canal Street in the Farmers Market Building. The Market is now open in Huntington on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at St Paul’s Episcple Church on the green in their front parking lot.

 

Vendors for the July 15 market include: Drunk Alpaca, East Village Farm, Jones Family Farms, The Little Dog Laughed, Oronoque Orchards, Stone Gardens Farm, Three Bridges Coffee, Mason Dixon, and Stone Gardens Cut Flowers. The market will also offer live music and fresh food off the grill!
The Shelton Farmers’ Market Association charges $25 for an annual membership fee to show support for the producer-only market. You’ll receive a membership card, Shelton Farmers Market tote bag, and special discounts from each vendor at the market.
