Joseph A. Pagliaro Jr. has been named as the chairman of the 2012-13 Community Campaign for a third term with the Valley United Way. Pagliaro is the senior vice president of the Riverview and Adzima Funeral Homes and has been an active community volunteer leader throughout his career.
Pagliaro has been a member of the campaign cabinet and Valley United Way’s Board of Directors for several years and is actively involved with many other Valley groups. He is a board member at the Valley Community Foundation, Shelton Economic Development Commission, Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club, BHcare Foundation Board and St. Joseph’s High School Advisory Board. He is also a corporator at Griffin Hospital.
Pagliaro is a former member and chair of the Shelton Board of Education.
He is also a past member of the board at the Parent Child Resource Center.
A graduate of Sacred Heart University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, he graduated from the New England Institute of Embalming with an associate’s degree in applied sciences.
Just like his late father Joseph Pagliaro Sr., who chaired the 1999 Community Campaign, Pagliaro believes the Community Campaign is an integral part of Valley life. He feels that the key to a successful campaign will be to expand the level of involvement from the community.
To achieve this, the Community Campaign goal is being increased to $1.2 million to keep up with the allocations and also to improve the level of service the staff gives to the community.
