Police: Derby man responsible for $90,000 burglary

Shelton Police arrested a Derby man Thursday that they said is responsible for a recent $90,000 burglary.

Cody Ives, 26, was arrested after police investigated a report of two suspicious males selling high-end jewelry. Detectives set up surveillance and found the two suspects trying to sell the jewelry and police determined one was responsible for the recent Shelton burglary, according to a release from Det. Ben Trabka.

Most of the stolen jewelry was recovered by police.


While investigating the burglary , Shelton Detectives, along with Derby Police located a large number of illegal pills at Ives’ Derby residence, police said. Ives’ girlfriend, 25 year-old Tiffany Cagganello was arrested by Derby Police on Narcotics charges.

Ives was charged with Burgalry in the third degree and Larceny in the first degree. Ives posted a $100,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 3.
