Charles Akinloye, Tennis Director at the Trumbull Racquet Club, is pleased to announce the addition of Marcela Ivon Rodezno to the tennis professional staff.
She was an internationally ranked tennis player, widely recognized as one of the finest female tennis players in El Salvadorian history.
Rodezno was ranked the No. 1 female tennis player in both singles and doubles in her country of El Salvador. She was also ranked the top player in both singles and doubles in Central America.
In the world, she has been ranked 98th in singles and 101st in doubles, according to the ITF ranking.
Rodezno was a member of the Fed Cup team, where her outstanding performances took her country to Group I of the Americas, reaching semifinals.
She has also represented her country in Olympic cycle events like the VII Central American Games, where she obtained three gold medals; the XIX Central American and Caribbean Games, where she obtained bronze medal; and the XIV Pan-American Games.
Rodezno attended college at South Carolina State University.
