The next book to be highlighted Shelton Reading Circle follows a story from the war between the states.
Enemy Women, by Paulette Jiles, follows a family that tries to stay neutral during the Civil War. But it doesn’t work, and the daughters of the family flee. However, the main character gets arrested. While in captivity, she falls for a Union soldier.
