Wakefern Food Corp. announces that Robert Ferrante, a Shelton High graduate, is a recipient of the 2012 Wakefern-ShopRite Scholarship.
The award gives Ferrante $2,000 for his undergraduate studies. Ferrante attends Western New England University where he will purse a degree in Pharmacy. He graduated from Shelton High and is a wrestler at the university with a 24-11 regular-season record.
“We are honored to recognize our local students for their academic achievement and we are proud to offer them help to support their educational goals,” said Joe Sheridan, Wakefern-ShopRite President and COO.
The 27 year-old Wakefern-ShopRite Scholarship Program is designed to help Wakefern-ShopRite associates’ children or grandchildren further their education. The selection of winners was administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Scholarship America, a national non-profit educational support and student aid service organization.
