Valley ties ran deep for Korey Frank Jordan, 19, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Seymour.
Korey was a lifelong Valley resident, attended public schools in Shelton and was a 2011 graduate of Emmett O’Brien Technical High School in Ansonia.
He was a passenger in a car that hit a utility pole on South Main Street in Seymour shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police found him trapped in the front passenger seat, and firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate him.
He was transported to Waterbury Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the accident.
“Whenever a young life is lost, it’s a shock to the school community and to the students,” said Laurie LeBouthiller, principal of Emmett O’Brien Technical School.
“It’s sad to lose someone so young, especially when they have a bright future ahead of them,” she said.
Jordan was a graduate of O’Brien’s HVAC program.
He was “a well liked and popular individual, and his personality and smile would light up a room,” according to the obituary that appears on this website.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, and a loyal fan of the New England Patriots and the N.Y. Yankees.
