Dillon third, Shelton boys fourth at SCC championships

The Shelton High boys cross country team placed fourth at the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships on the 5K (3.1 mile) course at East Shore Park in New Haven on Thursday.

Robert Dillon placed third overall with an All-SCC earning time of 15:56.

Matthew Richard was second for the Gaels, and 22nd overall, in 17:14.

Joshua Sacoto followed in 28th (17:40).

Tyler Pineau was 34th (17:51) and Matthew Cristiano 36th (17:54).

John DeRosa was 46th (18:14) and Owen Corbett 66th (18:43).

Xavier won its second consecutive SCC title and 11th overall.

Drew Thompson from Fairfield Prep won his third straight title with a record time of 15:13.
