LoMonte, Weissenberg lead Gaelettes to fourth

The Shelton High girls cross country team placed fourth at the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships on the 5K (3.1 mile) course at East Shore Park in New Haven on Thursday.

Amanda LoMonte placed eighth in 20:45 and Anna Weissenberg was 10th in 20:52 for coach Katelyn Tucker’s team.

Maeve Shelton was 26th (21:34) and Alexandra Kenealy 31st (21:48).

Elizabeth Richmond was 43rd (22:38).

Alice Winek was 49th (22:50) and Claire Santa 58th (23:13).

Meredith Bloss from Guilford placed first with a time of 19:17.
