Rotary Club to deliver sand & salt to seniors Dec. 7

The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club will be delivering five gallon buckets of a sand & salt mixture to seniors (70 years of age and older) and disabled individuals residing in Derby and Shelton on Dec. 7. The sand & salt mixture is to spread on driveways and walkways during the winter to help melt snow and ice.

If you are interested in receiving a bucket, sign up at either the Derby or Shelton Senior Center, or contact Kim Ryan at [email protected] or 203-929-1484 ext 227. The deadline for sign ups is Dec. 1.

Individuals residing in housing developments that already provide sand are not eligible for this program.

Rotary is the world’s hardest working service organization. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self, and Rotarians are involved in projects such as curing the world of polio, Sand & Salt for Seniors and providing dictionaries to every third grade student in Derby and Shelton.  Learn more about the Derby Shelton Rotary Club at www.derby-sheltonrotary.org
