Weeks of sunny weather have done wonders for the weeds encroaching on the Rec. Path near the Lane Street entrance. This coming Saturday, Oct. 28, the Shelton Trails Committee will hold a work party to beat them back and widen out the trail again.
Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Lane Street Rec Path kiosk, just past 19 Lane Street There’s only space for a few cars there, but parking is available on weekends at the parking lot across from 11 Lane Street, despite the “private property” signs.
Dress for the weather, and bring work gloves and water. We can provide clippers and loppers and other tools, or you may want to bring your own.

Upcoming Trail Closures
Please note: Trail closures are expected beginning Oct. 30 at Shelton Lakes due to work on the powerlines. Eversource will be using people dangling from helicopters to do the work, so although the closures may be an inconvenience, at least you’re not one of those people working on the lines. The trails that may be impacted include the Rec Path, Turkey Trot Trail, Paugussett (blue) Trail, Oak Valley Trail, Nells Rock Trail, and Basil Brook Bypass.
