Shelton loses to 7th-seeded Danbury

Alyssa Eannotti and Brooke McCone scored 13 points each when the 26th-seeded Shelton High girls basketball team went on the road and lost to seventh-seeded Danbury High, 53-41, on Tuesday.
The Gaelettes finish their season 8-13. Danbury, the two-time FCIAC champions, improved to 22-3.
Shelton fell behind 16-5 after one quarter and trailed 26-12 at the half. It won the third period 15-13 and played the Hatters evenly in the fourth.
McCone had four 3-pointers and Nicole Beard also knocked down a trey.
Megan Burke scored eight points and Nicole Roberts had four.
