Richard A. Loso, age 89, of Shelton, passed away February 25, 2013 in Bishop Wicke Health Center.
Mr. Loso was born in Bridgeport and was a Lieutenant in the Fire Department for the City of Bridgeport.
He was a member of the Fire Department Union and secretary/treasurer of local 834, past commander of the National Association Naval Veterans Port 5, and a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Having been a WWII veteran he was instrumental in organizing the V.T. 81 reunion committee.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lauretta R. (Moquin) Loso of Shelton; nine loving children Lorraine Halica, Jacqueline Loso and Jeanne Mayo and her husband Kenneth all of Shelton, CT, Yvonne Hines and her husband Thomas of Meriden, CT, Raymond Loso of Middletown, CT, Dianne Kranyak and her husband Michael of Summerville, South Carolina, Annette Tait and her husband David of Monroe, CT, Michael Loso and his wife Nicole of Covington, GA, Denise Loso of Naugatuck, CT; one sister Mary Miro and her husband Ralph of Lemoine, ME; many grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Hubert Loso and his sister Katherine Conway.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Jude’s Church 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
