Irish military historian Cormac O’Malley speaks at SHU

Irish military historian Cormac O’Malley, the son of Irish militant nationalist Ernie O’Malley, will speak Monday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart University’s Schine Auditorium.

Irish Book Shu TalkThe presentation on the book “Broken Landscapes: Selected Letters of Ernie O’Malley 1924-1957,” co-edited by O’Malley, is free and open to the public.

O’Malley has produced autobiographical memoirs, including On Another Man’s Wound and The Singing Flame.

After moving from Ireland, O’Malley attended Harvard University and later acted as an in-house international corporate attorney while living in Brussels, London and New York. In recent years, he has focused on the publication of his father’s heritage and has co-edited and revised numerous works.

As a dedicated contributor to Irish-American cultural activities, O’Malley is president of the board of advisors at New York University’s Glucksman Ireland House and works with NYU’s Center for Irish and Irish American Studies and with the Archives of Irish America.
