Rec Notes: Basketball, hip hop and stretching

The Shelton Parks and Recreation Department offers classes at the Community Center, 41 Church Street. Pre-register in person; cash or check. Information: 203-925-8422.

 

Adult open gym basketball — Held Sunday mornings, 9-11:30, through March 31 at the Shelton High School gym, 120 Meadow Street. Cost is $25.

Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and be a Shelton resident or a full time worker in Shelton to qualify to play. Participants must register at the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department. Participants must show their membership ID at the gym each week. This is an adult program and players are asked not to bring children. Basketballs will be provided.

 

Music & Movement — Wednesdays, beginning March 13, 10–10:45 a.m., six weeks, $60.

 

Stretch & Tone — Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., starting March 13, eight weeks, $45.

 

Zumba — Thursdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m., eight weeks, $45. Begins March 14.

 

Pilates — Thursdays, 7:15-8:15 p.m., starting March 14, eight weeks, $45.

 

Gentle Yoga  — Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m. starting March 14, eight weeks, $45.

 

Gentle Yoga — Saturdays, 10:45-12:15 p.m., starting March 16, eight weeks, $45.

 

Move It To Lose — Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30-9:30 a.m., eight weeks, $68, starting March 25.

 

Zumba Gold — Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m., March 26, eight weeks, $45.

 

Cross Training — Free class, Tuesday, April 2, 7-8 p.m.

 

Osteo-Fit — Free class Tuesday, April 2, 9:45-10:45 a.m.

 

Osteo-Fit — Tuesdays, 9:45-10:45 a.m., eight weeks, $43, starting April 9.

Cross Training — Tuesdays, 7-8 p.m., starting April 9, eight weeks, $45.

 

Yoga — Wednesdays, 7:05-8:05 p.m., starting April 10, 12 weeks for $78.

 

Yoga — Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. or 7:05-8:05 p.m., starting April 11, 12 weeks for $78.

 

Yoga — Tuesdays, 10:15–11:15 a.m., starting April 2, eight weeks, $50.

 

Hip Hop Dance Party — For those in kindergarten through third grade is Thursdays, 6-7 p.m., begining April 11, four weeks, $52. No class April 18.

 

Hoop Fitness — Free class Thursday, April 18, 6:15 –7:15 p.m.

 

Hoop Fitness — Thursdays, 6:15–7:15 p.m., starting April 25, eight weeks, $45.
