Troop collecting dolls, clothes to benefit safe homes

Shelton Junior Girl Scout Troop 60207 will be running a slightly used doll drive. This community service project is to help the troop achieve its Bronze award.

The troop will have a decorated collection bin in the lobby of the Community Center on Thursday, March 21, and Thursday, April 4, 5-7 p.m. They are collecting dolls Barbie size and up including clothes and accessories. The goal is for every doll collected to have two outfits to be donated with it.

The Bronze award is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can achieve. It provides girls with an opportunity to develop leadership, communication and finance skills. It requires many hours of planning and taking action. Troop 60207 chose to collect slightly used dolls to donate to safe houses throughout the state.
