St. Vincent’s College will host an open house for its degree and certificate programs in healthcare on Saturday, March 23, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Faculty and staff will be on hand to meet with prospective students and their families at the open house. There will be tours of the college, presentations by faculty in all degree and certificate programs, information on financial aid, and demonstrations in the college labs.
“Each year, almost 4,000 new health related jobs are created in the state, and the demand for skilled healthcare professionals continues to grow,” said Dr. Joanne Wolfertz, vice president and dean at the college in Bridgeport that is affiliated with St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Degree and certificate programs offered
The college offers associate in science degrees in nursing, medical assisting, general studies and radiography, as well as a wide range of continuing education and certificate programs leading to healthcare careers.
Information will also be available on the college’s RN to BSN online program for area nurses seeking to upgrade their degrees and a new online BSRS completion program in radiologic sciences.
Certificate programs leading to healthcare careers include medical assisting, healthcare reimbursement specialist, medical office assistant, healthcare management (online), hospital coding specialist, central sterile processing technician, diagnostic medical sonography, health promotion, multi-skilled assistant and the RN Refresher Program.
Open house specifics
The open house is Saturday, March 23, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Vincent’s College, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport. Free parking will be available in the Hunting Street Garage across the street from the college, upon validation of ticket.
