Congressman Jim Himes will hold a town meeting in Shelton on Saturday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. in City Hall, 54 Hill St.
Himes, a third-term Democrat from Greenwich, is holding the public meetings around his district to gather input from constituents on the issues currently facing Congress. All constituents are invited to attend.
The format usually involves a short presentation by Himes, followed by a question-and-answer session with those present.
‘I want to hear your thoughts’
“As Congress deliberates how best to accelerate job growth, reduce our national deficit, prevent future gun violence, and reform our immigration system, I want to hear your thoughts and ideas on these and the other important issues facing our nation,” Himes said.
Himes represents the Fourth the District that includes 17 towns and cities, covering most of Fairfield County. Shelton is divided between two congressional districts. Congressman Rosa DeLauro, also a Democrat, represents the Third District that covers other parts of Shelton.
