Resident to display her photography

MC,SH_WEB_Flower_displayEllen Fairbend of Shelton will show her photographs at The Flower Show at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in Monroe.

Scheduled to run in April, opening on Monday, April 1, with a reception to meet and greet Fairbend on Friday, April 5, at 6 p.m.

“My favorite times with a camera are when I can capture the intricate details of a flower or a revealing expression on a person’s face,” said Fairbend. “What I enjoy most is the quest to find an image that is beautiful or interesting and capture that moment for all time.”

Fairbend has been engaged in photography since her retirement from the Stratford school system. With a library of more than 17,000 prints, she has shown her work at local galleries such as the Stratford Public Library, Valley Arts Council Gallery and the Firehouse Gallery in Milford.
