The city of Shelton recently received a grant to buy the Pearmain Preserve, 6.71 acres of open space abutting the Shelton Land Conservation Trust’s Nicholdale Farm.
On Saturday, May 25, the Shelton Trails Committee will be clearing a route through the property to create a loop trail that connects to the Nicholdale Farm trails. Those wishing to assist should come to the Nicholdale Farm main parking lot, 324 Leavenworth Road (Route 110), at 8:30 a.m. Look for the “Trailhead Parking” sign.
Dress for the weather and bring work gloves and water to drink. There will be an assortment of tools available, but people are welcome to bring their own loppers, clippers and saws.
In case of questionable weather, visit the Shelton Trails Blog for updates.
