Written Words Bookstore in Shelton has reasons to celebrate: it has settled into its new location and open for business.
The six-year-old independent community bookstore is holding a series of special author events weekends in April to celebrate the bookstore’s re-opening.
Author of history, religion, politics
Thomas J. Craughwell is the author of more than a dozen books and will be at the store Sunday, April 14, 2 p.m. He has also written articles on history, religion, politics and popular culture for the Wall Street Journal, the American Spectator, U.S. News & World Report and more. His latest release is Thomas Jefferson’s Crème Brulee: How a Founding Father and His Slave James Hemings Introduced French Cuisine to America.
‘The Witch of Little Italy’
Saturday, April 20, 2 p.m., author and teacher Suzanne Palmieri will be discussing her debut novel, The Witch of Little Italy. She is also co-author of the upcoming I’ll Be Seeing You (as Suzanne Hayes) and her essays have been published online in Life Learning Magazine and Full of Crow: On The Wing edition.
‘Between Heaven and Texas’
Sunday, April 28, 2 p.m., author Marie Bostwick will be here to launch her new book, Between Heaven and Texas. Bostwick is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of historical and contemporary fiction. She is known for her Cobbled Court series.
Everyone who attends a minimum of three of the four planned events in their entirety will be entered to win a pair of tickets to see Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience, a Parody by Dan and Jeff at The Bushnell in Hartford in May and a $25 gift certificate to Written Words Bookstore.
The events are free and open to the public.
