Performances of “The Marvelous Wonderettes” will continue through April 21 at Center Stage Theatre in Shelton.

The cast of the Center Stage production includes Shelton resident Fiona Bryson and former resident Melissa Rampton. The director is Francesca Scarpa.

“The Marvelous Wonderettes” opens in 1958 at the Springfield High School prom, where four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts make up The Wonderettes. The second act resumes a decade later at the girls’ 10-year high school reunion.

Audience members will learn about their lives and loves as the girls perform such classic 1950s and ’60s songs as “Lollipop, “ “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick On Your Collar,” It’s My Party” and “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me.”

Was performed at Off-Broadway venue

Scarpa said the musical “takes us on a trip down Memory Lane.” The play, written and created by Roger Bean, was performed Off-Broadway from 2008 to 2010.

Cast members are Caitlin Boles of Newtown, Fiona Bryson of Shelton, Casey Perruzzi of Stratford, and Melissa Rampton of Milford.
