Author and teacher Suzanne Palmieri will discuss her novel “The Witch of Little Italy” today at a bookstore in Shelton.
Palmieri will appear at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Written Words Bookstore, 481 River Road (Route 110). This is a new location for the independently-owned bookstore, which previously had been in the White Hills shopping center in Shelton.
This is Palmieri’s debut novel, and was published by St. Martin’s Press.
“The trouble started for the Amore family during the tragic and triumphant days of post-World War I America, and clings fast to the air around them still,” according to a description of the new book by St. Martin’s Press publicity material. “Twenty two year old Elly Amore is only the latest in a series of Amore women to lose her way, trip into trouble, and hide behind secrets.”
Palmieri also is the co-author of the forthcoming “I’ll Be Seeing You” (as Suzanne Hayes), and her essays have been published online in Life Learning Magazine and “Full of Crow: On The Win” edition.
New York Times best-selling author is next
Next week, author Marie Bostwick will be at Written Words to launch her new book, “Between Heaven and Texas.” Bostwick is a New York Times- and USA Today-bestselling author of historical and contemporary fiction. She is best known for her “Cobbled Court” series.
Written Words regularly hosts visits by authors, and these two appearances are part of the bookstore’s grand reopening series at the new location.
The events are free and open to the public. Books presented for signing must be purchased from Written Words Bookstore.
