Shelton Trails Committee plans cleanup activity Saturday

The Shelton Trails Committee will have a work party session Saturday, April 27 at 8:30 a.m. at Paugussett Trail Extension.

Participants should meet on Constitution Boulevard North, just past Shelton Intermediate School, where the power lines cross the road near Summerfield Gardens Condominiums (click here for exact location: http://goo.gl/maps/CcqVu ).

The session will involve spring cleanup and clearing activities, and possibly moving some foot-bridges. People can bring loppers, rakes, bow saws and weedwhackers to assist. They should wear boots water and gloves, and have water and snacks for their consumption.

Fun, exercise and community service

“Please come out and join us for fresh air, fun, exercise, making new friends, a sense of accomplishment and valued community service,” said Trails Committee publicity material.

The Trails Committee session takes place during the city’s week-long Clean Sweep program, which encourages citizens and organizations to clean their neighborhoods and public areas such as parks and school grounds.
