A Shelton family will appear on the game show “Family Feud,” with the possibility of winning up to $100,000.

The Baldyga family from Shelton will face off against the Patel family from Chicago in front of a live studio audience in Atlanta, with the chance to win up to $100,000 and a brand new car, along with some serious bragging rights.

The show with the Baldygas as contestants will air Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 a.m. on Channel 20 (WCCT) and at 5 p.m. on My 9, WWOR.

Five family members

The Baldyga family is comprised of Kristen, a senior scientist; her father Ken, a vice president of human resources; her sister Kellie, a publicist; her sister Kim, an exercise specialist; and her husband Ken, a director of admissions.

Kellie said the family was eager to appear on the show.

“We are all outgoing and enjoy trying new things, so when my dad emailed us the flyer about the ‘Family Feud’ auditions at Foxwoods Casino we decided to go completely for the fun,” Kellie said. “We haven’t all gone away together for a family vacation in a few years, so if we win this will be the perfect chance to make the time for that to happen.”

Will Shelton’s Baldyga family be able to take everyone on vacation on “Family Feud”? Viewers will have to tune in to see the results.

“Probably as a family, it was one of the best experiences we’ve had together,” Kellie told the Shelton Herald.

Host is comedian Steve Harvey

The current host of the nationally syndicated show is comedian Steve Harvey. Since Harvey took over as host of the show, viewership has increased nearly 50% overall, according to promotional material.

“One of the original Kings of Comedy, Harvey brings his ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ brand of humor to center stage where he keeps audiences in stitches for the show’s 14th season,” according to a press release from the show.

Families travel from throughout the United States to compete for big cash prizes on the set of “Family Feud,” and can enjoy a bonding experience while they participate.

When the show is over, fans can connect for breaking news on Twitter (@FamilyFeud), find outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage on YouTube (www.youtube.com/familyfeud), and even face off against friends and family on Facebook.
