Shelton Boy Scout Troop 28 cleans up two open space sites

Boy Scout Troop 28 removed household, automotive and other garbage from two debris fields in the Wiacek open space on April 27.

The two projects were done as an Earth Day project. About 2,500 pounds of metal, 500 glass bottles and 10 bags of other assorted garbage was collected.

Scouts participating in the event were Matthew Balcerzak, Charlie Chagnon, Robbie Delgado, Kevin Demaine, Zachary McEwen, Charlie O’Brien, Isaac Seyer, Brendon Stuart, Ian Tyler and Kyle Young.

Adult leaders participating in the event included Rob Balcerzak, Don Demaine, Maurice Donini, Matt Fama, Don Pendagast, Dan Tyler and  Brian Young.

Boy Scout Troop 28 is a member of the Housatonic Council and was organized in 1971. The troop, which currently has 33 members, is sponsored by Mohegan School and meets every Thursday at the Nike Site in Shelton.
