In honor of American Heart Month, Crosby Commons at Wesley Village and Griffin Hospital presented a “Tips for Your Ticker” program at the assisted living community in Shelton. The program focused on learning ways to keep your heart healthy, exercises you can do anywhere and other facts regarding heart health.

Griffin Hospital’s Planetree Healthy Communities Committee, which presented this event, is charged with promoting health and wellness in the Valley community. The programs they are responsible for include food drives to benefit local food pantries and shelters, educational programs and other awareness raising initiatives.

Regular health and wellness programs are offered on the Wesley Village campus to residents, families, employees and the greater Shelton community as part of a larger wellness initiative. Visit wesleyvillage-ct.org for a list of upcoming events.
