Obituary: Robert F. Burritt, 53 of Seymour, formerly of Shelton

Robert F. Burritt, age 53 of Seymour, formerly of Shelton, passed away May 17, 2013 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.

Robert was born in Derby July 4, 1959, son of the late Ronald and Dorothy Racker Burritt.

During his life, Robert worked as a forklift operator for the former Stevenson Lumber of Monroe for over twenty years and for Bridgeport Lumber for four years until March 2013. He also worked as a maintenance worker for Planet Storage of Bridgeport.

He was a member of the Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 Sons of the American Legion, Shelton, and the Valley Horseshoe League, Shelton. He was an avid fisherman and pool player and loved riding his motorcycle and treated his nephews as if they were his own children.

He is survived by a sister, Catherine Crowther; nephews; Justin, Robert Jr. and Travis Crowther and great nephew Aiden. He is also survived by numerous friends he loved very much.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. in the JAMES T. TOOHEY & SON FUNERAL HOME, 92 HOWE AVE., SHELTON with Rev. Jim Wegner officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M.
