The St. Joseph Carnival and Food Fest of Shelton annual Carnival and Food Fest continues nightly through Saturday, May 25. It opened on Tuesday. Remaining times are Friday and Saturday, 6-11 p.m.

Fred Davino, 10, of Shelton bites into his fried dough with powdered sugar in the St. Joseph Carnival dining tent while joined by his father, Carl, who is enjoying a bowl of chili.

The carnival offers food, games, rides, a raffle and other activities. Wristbands are available to ride all night.

The parish grounds are at 420 Coram Ave. in downtown Shelton, near the Plumb Memorial Library.

Featured food includes fried dough, barbecue and Italian chicken sandwiches, eggplant and meatball subs, steak sandwiches, grilled kielbasa and sauerkraut, porketta sandwiches, sausage and peppers, liver and bacon, pierogies, chicken nuggets, empanados, chili fries, onion rings, burgers, hot dogs, clam chowder, and wings.
