Shelton artist’s painting wins award in show, now on display

This acrylic painting by Shelton artist Joseph Keogan won second prize in a regional art show.

 

An acrylic painting by Shelton artist Joseph Keogan was awarded second prize at the Easton Arts Council’s Art in the Country regional open juried show.

The painting, “Books for Sale,” will be display through June 14 during library hours at the Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road, Easton. The show is free and open to the public.

The 53 accepted works on display were selected from artwork submitted by artists from Connecticut and New York. Arthur Guagliumi, the show’s juror, said “‘Books for Sale; is a traditional rendering, well composed, with an eye for fine detail. It is sensitive and painted with loving care.”

Proceeds of art purchases will aid the library and further the arts in Easton.
