People’s United Bank will celebrate the opening of its new Huntington Center branch at 500 Shelton Ave. on Wednesday, June 26. This will be the bank’s 30th branch location in the greater Bridgeport region and the 165th in the state.

Al Paolozzi, market manager and vice president of the Shelton market, said the location will bring “a familiar name and a beautiful, new building to the area.”

Paolozzi has 10 years of experience in personal banking, mortgage lending and business banking with People’s United. He will work with Cathy Ferreira-Golino, financial services manager and assistant vice president, at the Huntington Center branch.

“We’re pleased to have this opportunity to bring the convenience and friendly service that is the hallmark of People’s United to the residents and businesses of the Shelton area,” Paolozzi said.

Wide range of services

The Huntington Center branch will offer a full range of banking services, such as retail products, commercial loans, payroll processing, merchant services, business credit cards, 401(k) administration services, financial advisory, and wealth management and trust services.

The location has two 24-hour ATMs (one lobby and one drive-up), a free self-service coffee bar, a free self-serve coin-counting machine, and a TV airing financial news networks.

Support for community organization

During the grand opening, the Bridgeport-based bank will present a $1,000 contribution to the Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

Part of a national network of affiliated Boys and Girls Clubs, the Lower Naugatuck Valley chapter is open daily, offering programs and activities to some 2,000 youth each year at its Shelton and Ansonia facilities.

“It is support like this that truly does help us continue to positively impact children’s lives in our community,” said Shaye A. Roscoe, the local club’s executive director.
