Book Sale — Wednesday, June 26, 10 a.m. Friends of the Shelton Libraries summer sale runs during regular library hours; free coffee and treats for browsers. Stop in Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday for deals; become a FOTSL member for bigger discounts; proceeds support Shelton libraries.

 

Toddler Movement — Wednesdays, June 26 and July 3, 11 a.m. Songs, dance, action poems and musical instruments for preschoolers 2-4 and caregivers.

 

Storytime for 3s & 4s — Thursday, June 27, 11 a.m. Three and four year olds hear stories.

 

Weird Science — Thursday, June 27, 2 p.m. Kids Summer Reading Club kick-off with Children’s Museum of West Hartford, featuring lasers and electricity.

 

Teen SRC Kickoff — Thursday, June 27, 6 p.m. Steampunk summer starts with a visit from Caroline Wilcox, makeup artist. First 12 teens registering will be transformed into mechanically-enhanced characters, waitlist available; food and information on summer at the library featured.

 

Baby Rhyme Time — Tuesdays, July 2 and 9, 11 a.m. Infants and non-walkers discover nursery rhymes and action songs with their caregivers; followed by open play time.

 

Puppet Show — Wednesday, July 3, 2 p.m. Sparky’s Puppets perform “Tricksters and Noodleheads” a silly folktale medley featuring clever animals and foolish people; sponsored by the Friends of the Shelton Libraries.

 

Spanish with Sandra — Fridays, July 5 and 12, 10:30 a.m. Kids 3-5 years experience a 30 minute “immersion” through songs, games, stories and activities with Sandra Alvarado; register.

 

As I See It — Wednesday, June 26, 1 p.m. Friends of the Shelton Libraries offer a film viewing and discussion over desserts; new members and opinions welcome.
