The free shows are weekly from 7-9 p.m. Call 203-331-4120 in case of inclement weather.
The concert series is presented by the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department with the help of private sponsors.
“This is one of the best line-ups of quality bands we’ve ever had,” Dave Zamba, Gazebo Committee chairman, said of this year’s concert schedule. “There is something for everyone.”

About tonight’s band
The Bernadettes started out in the early 1990s as a traditional-style blues band, covering songs by the likes of John Lee Hooker and Howlin Wolf, as well as later bluesmen such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton.
But, according to the group’s website, the band soon began experimenting with their own unique versions of rhythm-and-blues classics from James Brown, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and their contemporaries. This evolved further with the addition of classic Motown hits, contemporary funk, soul, and R&B-flavored rock songs to their large and varied, dance-oriented song list.
“The resulting mix has become the staple of the band’s offering to live audiences,” states the band’s website.
The band has been voted the Best Rhythm and Blues Band in the New Haven Advocate readers poll, and also was chosen by that paper as New Haven’s No. 1 Bar Band.
Members of The Bernadettes are:
— Elden “El” Lowery (lead vocals, percussion)
— Don DeStefano (harmonica, slide guitar, rhythm guitar)
— Bryan Kearney (lead vocals)
— Sheila Fabrizio (lead vocals)
— Mark Spicer (keyboards, vocals)
— Brian Johnson (bass guitar, vocals)
