Saturday: Shelton childcare center hosts Touch-a-Truck for community

Tutor Time Child Care and Learning Center in Shelton will host a Touch-A-Truck event for area children and their families Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at its facility, 708 Bridgeport Ave.

Trucks and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be at the school for youngsters to climb in and honk the horn. Children can discover how different vehicles work and what functions they play in keeping Shelton clean and safe. Some of the vehicles to be on-site include a fire truck, police car, ambulance, dump truck and excavator.

Face painting and a moon bounce

There also will be face painting, raffles, a moon bounce, and snacks and refreshments. The event is free and open to all families in the community, but cash donations will be accepted to support the Diaper Bank of Connecticut.

“We really encourage area families to come out and participate in the event and have a little fun outside in the great summer weather,” said Stacy Mullenax, center director. “We’re confident that children of all ages will have fun and it’s the perfect opportunity for families to spend some quality time together while supporting a worthy cause.”
