Bic Corp., with its U.S. headquarters in Shelton, is raising awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The company will hold a “Warrior Speaks and Head Shave Program” for Bic employees on Thursday, Aug. 8 at its Bic Consumer Products USA headquarters.
Head shaves will be provided for participating Bic workers, and former Army National Guard member Jason Braase will discuss how he has benefited from the Wounded Warrior Project. Braase served in Iraq.
There also will be a chance for employees to participate in the “Unleash Your Tough” contest series, which includes buffalo chicken-wing eating, push-ups and TV trivia contests.
The Shelton event is part of the Bic 4 Good charitable program, created by the company three years ago to support overall corporate social responsibility by giving back to the community while having fun in the process.
Since its inception, Bic has donated more than $300,000 to three causes through Bic 4 Good. This year’s beneficiary is the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project’s goal is to raise awareness about, and to enlist the public’s aid to support, the needs of injured American service members. Learn more at woundedwarriorproject.org.
Bic razors are the official razors of Tough Mudder, a grueling 10-to-12 mile obstacle course and adventure challenge series in the United States designed by British Special Forces.
Through Tough Mudder events, Bic hopes to provide 10,000 head shaves, mohawks or mullets with its shavers to help raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.
