Free guidance on services offered to Shelton disabled vets

The nonprofit Disabled American Veterans (DAV) mobile service office will be in the region to help qualifying veterans learn about benefits and services they have earned.

With many changes in programs from year to year, the DAV provides advice counseling and claim filing assistance. All DAV services are free to veterans and their family members.

The DAV mobile office will be available:

— Monday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at DAV Milford Chapter No. 15, 45 New Haven Ave., Milford.

— Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at VFW Post 308, 18 Tinkerfield Road, Newtown.

— Thursday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at New Haven Veterans Center, 141 Capt. Thomas Blvd., West Haven.
