Perfect weather helped draw a big crowd to the event, a double bill with a children’s show by Lynn Lewis and Friends and the main performance by Fools on the Hill, a Beatles tribute band.

Friends of the Shelton Dog Park was offering face painting for $3 to raise money for the facility.

It was part of the 2013 Music Under the Stars free outdoor concert series, presented by the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department.

The weekly outdoor shows are free and open to the public, who are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to the Huntington Green. Food trucks and nearby food establishments also will be available.

The remaining two concerts in the summer series, held Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m., are Midnight Rodeo on Aug. 21 and Little Big Band on Aug. 28.
