Obituary: Beverly Ann Gates, 65, of Huntington

Beverly Ann Gates, 65, the beloved wife and best friend of Richard E. Gates for over forty-four years, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a valiant struggle with MS. Born in Bridgeport, she was a graduate of Trumbull High School Class of 1965 and was a resident of Huntington for over forty years.

Beverly was free spirit and full of life and her greatest joy was raising her 4 children and spending time with her family. She was an extraordinary strong women who will be deeply missed, but left behind many memories that will be treasured forever. She loved Halloween and baseball especially the Yankees.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three devoted daughters, Tracey Savage and

her husband, Robert of Derby, Laura Turiano of Monroe, Shannon Edmonds and her husband, Wayne of Seymour; her loving son, John Gates and his wife, Megan of Huntington; her mother, Carmella Grosso of Trumbull; her brother, Joseph Grosso and his wife, Karyl of Trumbull. Beverly is also survived by her seven loving grandchildren, Brian Maroldt, Sabryna & Joseph Turiano, Richard Lee Jr. and Alaina Edmonds and Richard Gates II & John Gates Jr.. She was predeceased by her father, Philip Grosso.

All services are private at the request of the family. Donations may be made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, CT Chapter, 659 Tower Avenue, First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.  Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.
