Firefighters to honor 9/11 heroes with blood drive Sept. 8

On Sunday, Sept. 8, the firefighters and Ladies Auxiliary of the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Inc. will host a community blood drive from 9 a.m.-2:15 p.m. at the fire station, 860 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

The tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 inspired Americans to come together in a remarkable spirit of unity and compassion. The people in the community have been invited to come together once again to help their neighbors.

Each donation made will help to save up to three lives. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged. To make an appointment, log onto redcrossblood.org or call 800-RED CROSS.
