Fire alarm at Shelton High brings response

Fire crews have left the scene of a fire alarm early this afternoon at Shelton High School, according to Nick Verdicchio, a Shelton Fire Department spokesman.

Verdicchio, speaking at about 12:45 p.m., said the problem appears to have been related to the school’s HVAC system and may have involved a belt on that mechanism.

Early report on the alarm:

There are reports of two fire companies responding to a fire alarm at Shelton High School at about 12:15 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 6.

Early indications are there is light smoke but no fire visible, and it could possibly involve an issue with the HVAC system.
