The next open enrollment period for the Medicare prescription drug program runs Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. The open enrollment period is the time when senior citizens can have their current plan evaluated to determine if it remains the best plan for their needs, and to switch to another plan, which will be effective Jan. 1, 2014.
This is also the time when seniors may change Medicare Supplemental or Medicare Advantage plans for 2014.
A certified Choices counselor with the Agency On Aging of South Central Connecticut will be at the Shelton Senior Center beginning Oct. 15 to help answer questions.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 7, visit or call the Shelton Senior Center at 203-924-9324 to schedule an appointment.
