Update on weekend accident on Murphy's Lane

UPDATE Wednesday, 8:24 a.m. — Police are reporting that Ramona Seeley, the passenger of the motorcycle involved in the weekend crash, has died from her injuries.

ORIGINAL story — Shelton police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of River Road and Murphy’s Lane for a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, Sept. 7, at about 9 p.m.

The initial investigation by police revealed that a motorcycle with a passenger was traveling south on River Road when it collided with a Dodge minivan that was traveling onto River Road from Murphy’s Lane.

The driver of the motorcycle, Samuel Seeley, 55, of Orange was taken to the hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. Ramona Seeley, 54,  a passenger on the motorcycle, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, Megan Kalanick, 22, of Shelton, did not report being injured.

 

No enforcement action at this time

The Shelton Police Traffic Division is currently investigating this accident. No enforcement action has been taken at this time.

Note: Shelton police sent out a corrected press release regarding this crash. This article is based on that corrected release. The second release said that no one has died because of the accident, as police had mistakenly reported in the first release.
