PerkinElmer will host a half-mile walk for people and their pets on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.–noon at Veterans Memorial Park (the Riverwalk) in Shelton.
Participants and their well-behaved pet can “enjoy a leisurely stroll with your furry friends” during the second annual Steps for Pets event, according to organizers.
People are being asked to bring a pet food or cash donation for the Pet Food Pantry. People can participate in the walk without a pet as well.
The Connecticut Humane Society is in need of donations to help families across Connecticut struggling to feed their pets keep them at home and out of shelters.
Go to www.perkinelmer.com/stepsforpets to register for the walk.
