Dog's birthday bash will boost Shelton Animal Shelter

An event to celebrate a dog’s eighth birthday will raise money for vet bills and collect food for the Shelton Animal Shelter.

The “It’s Great to be Eight” party for Kinzy Bean will take place Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 4:15-7 p.m. at Vazzy’s Cucina Restaurant, 706 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton.

Kinzy Bean belongs to Kathy Yolish, a Shelton Board of Education member. It’s become a tradition for Yolish to mark her dog’s birthday with an event to help the city’s animal shelter.

Guests are asked to bring a check for the Ansonia Westfield Vet (note “Shelton Dog Pound” in the memo) to offset medical treatments and shots for animals staying at the shelter, or bring dog food items such as canned food (no gravy), dry food, dog treats, biscuits and cookies as well as toys.

The gathering, according to an invitation to the event, “should be a howling success.”

To attend, RSVP to 203-929-4701 or [email protected]
