Fall scenes from a Shelton Rec Path hike

Shelton-RecPathWalk2Saturday was a perfect autumn day for a hike on the Shelton Rec Path, which connects Huntington Center with downtown Shelton.

Here are some images from the scenery along part of the trail, with the foliage still in view but perhaps past its peak. (Photos by Brad Durrell)

Earlier this year, the Shelton Conservation Commission and the Shelton Trails Committee received the 2013 Excellence in Conservation Award from the Connecticut Land Conservation Council for the completion of the Shelton Lakes Recreation Path and Greenway.

The four-mile-long multi-use path and surrounding open space connects various city-owned undeveloped parcels and intersects with many hiking trails.
