Shelton sees first snowflakes of 2013-14 wintry season

Snow is falling in Shelton and could continue into the morning. As of about 8:30 a.m., it is 30 degrees.

Some of the snow is beginning to stick to certain surfaces, such as shrubs and trees, but doesn’t seem to be accumulating on roads.

The snowflakes are on the large size, but forecasters are not predicting any substantial accumulation.

Temperatures are expected to rise into the high 30s this afternoon but then drop into the low 20s late tonight. It will be clear this evening.
