A note from School Supt. Freeman Burr, posted on the Shelton Public Schools website yesterday, appears below:
We will update as more information becomes available.
Please be advised that the SHS administration has investigated an alleged threat of gun violence at SHS tomorrow [Nov. 22].
The investigation included identifying the alleged student involved. Subsequent conversations with the student and guardian determined that the allegation is not credible.
SHS administration believes this rumor is being perpetuated due to texting and tweets from students.
SHS will be open tomorrow and the school day will run on a normal schedule. Administration and security will be on alert to secure the facility and ensure student safety.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions.
