The Shelton Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a holiday gingerbread house building workshop for children ages 4 to 13 during the holiday season.
The sessions, held in conjunction with the Cookie Workshop of Trumbull, will take place Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.-noon at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church St.
An edible gingerbread house
During the event, each child and caregiver will build their own edible gingerbread house together. The cost is $30 per gingerbread house, with one house per child with caregiver.
The price will include freshly-baked gingerbread made by the Cookie Workshop; lots of varieties of icing and edible holiday decorations; and professional assistance from the Cookie Workshop staff.
When complete, participants can take their 6-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch creation home to enjoy. All products are completely nut-free.
Must register by Dec. 10
The workshop is open to Shelton residents and nonresidents, with limited space. Registrations will be held until Dec. 10 in the Parks and Recreation office at the Shelton Community Center; make checks payable to “City of Shelton.”
In the event of inclement weather, call 203-331-4120 the day of the event for updated information. If the event should be canceled, all money will be refunded.
