What to do with trash, recycling over the holiday

Trash and recycling collection in Shelton will be suspended on Thursday, Nov. 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Residents who are normally scheduled for trash or recycling collection on Thursday will be collected on Friday this week, and the Friday collection will be on Saturday.

Both the transfer station and compost site will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open at 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Transfer station hours on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, are 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Compost site hours on Friday, Nov. 29, are 7 a.m.-2 p.m.; and on Saturday, Nov. 30 are 7 a.m.-noon.

The holiday collection schedule and hours were released by the office of Paul J. DiMauro, Shelton public works director.
