‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ to come alive in Valley celebration

The Strand Theater in downtown Seymour will show the holiday classic film “It’s a Wonderful Life” on the big screen this weekend.

Movie times are Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at approximately 8:45 p.m. (after a concert); and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, the nearby All-American Valley General Store will host events as it becomes Mr. Gower’s Drug Store from the movie’s fictional Bedford Falls during the day. This includes a holiday feast farm dinner at 6:45 p.m., before the film screening.

Other events during the “It’s a Wonderful Life Celebration” on Saturday from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. include breakfast with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, bell-chiming, author book-signing, luminaries, sing-along, and meeting George Bailey.

Many stores in downtown Seymour will take on the roles of fictional businesses from the movie for the celebration.
